JP calls the South Bay area of Los Angeles his home. As his career matures it is the people and locations of his hometown and surrounding communities that most inspire his work.
These inspirations and influences become evident in JP’s most recent short form documentaries BRICKS and MEAH LANE as well as his participation as a director for GO PUBLIC: A Day In The Life Of An American School District. His portrait of young Angel Balcazar in the film ANGEL celebrates the beauty in the subtle.
He aims to build on the theme of humanity with the new documentary short series “Life Adjacent.” A collaboration with producer Daniella Segura, “L.A.” will give viewers a glimpse into the lives of their contemporaries and associates, highlighting the global struggle to live simply and simply live.

Daniella Segura is a proud alumnus of both UC Berkeley and USC Annenberg; however, her academic accomplishments are not what define her talent. With a unique artistic and journalistic eye, her photography and narrative expose the compassion and respect she holds for every story she ventures to tell. It is this pairing of intellect and artistry that identify Daniella's production work for "Life Adjacent," a collaboration with filmmaker/director Jonathan Pascual.
